Sligo Town

F91 KTX2

These gardens are a wonderful story of renewal – created from the neglected wilderness of the old walled garden belonging to the parochial house in the middle of Sligo town. Started in 2009, there is now a thriving community garden, an orchard and an apiary where local people join together to cultivate food and friendships.

Open: 2pm - 4pm on 5 July, 2 Aug

Park at Cathedral (beside Hawkswell Theatre) or by Westlife mural. Walk up lane opposite Cathedral (post box at entrance) towards old Summerhill Sch. building, to gate leading to Men's Shed. Garden through gate.

This creative garden, on a sloping site, is a place children love to play in, writers and composers find inspiring and many enjoy for relaxed contemplation. Surrounding a thatched cottage, it encompasses a pond, flowers and fruit, but primarily labyrinth walks: a tree labyrinth, a herb spiral labyrinth, a triple spiral labyrinth and willow tunnel. Picnics welcome.

Open: 2pm – 5pm on 5 May, 7 July, 18 Aug, 8 Sept
