4 St Mary's Community Gardens
Natascha Telford 086 3782 920
These gardens are a wonderful story of renewal – created from the neglected wilderness of the old walled garden belonging to the parochial house in the middle of Sligo town. Started in 2009, there is now a thriving community garden, an orchard and an apiary where local people join together to cultivate food and friendships.
Open: 2pm - 4pm on 5 July, 2 Aug

This creative garden, on a sloping site, is a place children love to play in, writers and composers find inspiring and many enjoy for relaxed contemplation. Surrounding a thatched cottage, it encompasses a pond, flowers and fruit, but primarily labyrinth walks: a tree labyrinth, a herb spiral labyrinth, a triple spiral labyrinth and willow tunnel. Picnics welcome.
