Nestled at the end of a birch-lined lane, this charming organic cottage garden lies within a working organic farm. Visitors can wander through productive fruit and vegetable beds, colourful herbaceous borders and a fragrant rose walk, explore the orchard, woodland, pond and rockery, or relax in peaceful seating areas throughout the wildlife-friendly garden. 

Open: 1 - 5 pm on 25 & 26 July

From Gurteen, take the R294 towards Tubbercurry. After 2 km turn left onto L8104 at the sign for Mount Irwin Cemetery. After 1.4 km take the left turn, then the immediate right fork along the tree-lined lane.

Dearest Dahlia presents over 200 dahlias in splendid bloom. Forty entirely new varieties alongside cherished favourites from seasons past. With a little luck, a glowing sunflower field and a small romantic cottage garden will also be in their finest summer form.

From Sligo, take the N16 to the Regional Stores traffic lights & turn onto the R286 towards Dromahair. After 500m, turn left towards Calry and follow for 8km. At the Newtownmanor/Leitrim sign, turn onto L8150.  First house on the left.

Nestled in the foothills of the Ox Mountains with panoramic views of Knocknarea and Benbulben, the garden, with photographs by Gerry Daly, is well illustrated in “The Irish Garden” magazine (2015) and described as “a great celebration of flowers and plants arranged in a most unusual but very interesting fashion”. This large garden has an eclectic mix of trees, shrubs and herbaceous perennials.

Open: 2 - 5pm on 30 & 31 May, 1 June, 20 & 21 June, 4 & 5 July, 22 & 23 August
